Immunogenetics of healthy individuals

A link between HLA genotype and the presence of specific autoantibodies has previously been established across different autoimmune disorders. However, the functional process linking specific antibodies to specific HLA remains unclear. Additionally, autoantibodies - usually associated with autoimmune disease - are also present in healthy individuals. Examining how HLA variation shapes immune regulation can provide new perspectives on immune genetics and personalized medicine. Here, we highlight various projects which aim to comprehend the immunogenetic landscape of diverse healthy individuals. Project includes:

  1. Examination of HLA class II diversity on antigenic targets in healthy subjects
  2. Mapping the intersection between self-identification and genetics
  3. Phenome-Wide Association (PheWAS) of HLA
